I can't even get as far as David. I have a hard drive partition folder(itunes) mapped as a network drive for my laptop's iTunes library. Absolutely nothing shows up. Is there a way for me to force it to read the XML file instead of just setting the library folder?

@bronx, no this won't work with a mac and a PC because of the way file paths are stored in the itunes database (XML file).

Is anyone else having the problem that despite following the tutorial itunes will claims to not know where the files are and puts an exclamation mark against each file- browsing to them works fine.

I have followed the tutorial to the letter- very frustrating!
