Instead of opening iTunes normally, hold down ‘Shift’ as you click the shortcut, keeping it pressed while the application loads.
You should see this message:

From this dialogue, you can create more than one library. For example I made one for music, one for audiobooks, and one for PDFs. (Yes, iTunes does support these – try importing some…)


Mac equivalent: Mutiple Libraries in iTunes 7.
Is there anyway to make this happen everytime, without having to hold down the Shift key?
I didn’t find anything so far, so I quickly put something together for you: The Application presses down the shift key for you during iTunes start, just launch it instead of iTunes (readjust your shortcuts). Here it is: http://www.box.net/shared/n0b9df9c0w
